Coronavirus testing site to open in east Orange County on Monday

With 150 tests in hand, the first site for coronavirus testing is opening in east Orange County on Monday, but only residents who meet the CDC criteria will be tested, and they must call for a phone screening and appointment, officials said on Sunday.

“We’re all really a bit anxious about the testing,” Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said at a press conference. “We understand we cannot truly perfect our response and mitigation plans without knowing where people are testing positive.”

On Sunday evening, meanwhile, the state reported that there are now 1,007 COVID-19 positive test results in Florida, with 937 of them among Florida residents and another 70 among non-residents.
