Universal Orlando to Make 20 Acres of Land Available for Affordable Housing Units

On December 16, Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and Universal Parks and Resorts Chief Administrative Officer John Sprouls announced a major initiative to aid in the increase of affordable housing units in Orange County. Universal Parks and Resorts will make 20 acres of land available for affordable housing units. This land will accommodate nearly 1,000 mixed-use housing units.

“We couldn’t be more excited,” said Mayor Demings. “While details are still being worked out, Universal is serving as a prime example of a private entity teaming up with a public entity to address the affordable housing crisis in Orange County.”
