What You Need to Know about eating in Orlando during Coronavirus

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that all restaurants in the state shift to take-out and delivery service only, and has lifted the ban on alcohol delivery for restaurants under certain circumstances. (Read the executive order here.) Several local restaurants had already made this change, and lists of options are available and being updated by Amy Drew Thompson at the Orlando Sentinel and Lisa Wilke of Taste Cook Sip. Home cooks can still stock up on local items at the Winter Garden Farmers Market–the public health precautions they’ve taken are on the market’s Facebook page. Wild Hare Kitchen and Garden Emporium has also taken steps so that their customers can stock up on fresh local goods, and as of March 23 will offer a free sack lunch to school-aged kids and young adults while supplies last. At Lake Meadow Naturals, volunteers are working overnight shifts to grade the free-range eggs that are now available for retail purchase as restaurant sales plummet. They are open daily as usual.
